Elaine R. McHale is a partner in the firm’s Commercial Law practice. Over the course of her twenty five year career, she has specialized in blending sound legal advice with pragmatic solutions to address the commercial and regulatory challenges that businesses face in the U.S. and abroad. She has extensive experience counseling senior clients across a wide range of commercial matters, large and small, including business development, corporate compliance, commercial transactions, regulatory affairs and public policy matters. She has a proven track record of applying business acumen, customer focus, negotiation skills, and intellectual leadership to achieve results for her clients.
Prior to joining the firm, Elaine was the Chief Legal Officer of AT&T Business Services, a multibillion dollar division of AT&T providing network services and solutions to large global businesses worldwide. Leading an organization of 125 legal and government affairs professionals, she was responsible for all legal, regulatory, compliance and government affairs matters affecting AT&T’s global business, including retail and wholesale sales, marketing and distribution, network operations, and customer care and billing. In this role, she re-engineered the customer contracting process to improve the customer experience, to grow revenue, and to enable the company’s expansion worldwide. She appeared before regulators and trade organizations worldwide to secure license authorizations for commercial operations, and successfully concluded commercial arrangements with global partners and suppliers.
Elaine is admitted to the New York State Bar. She graduated from St. John’s University School of Law, with distinction, and completed the Senior Executive Graduate Program at INSEAD Business School in Fontainebleau, France. She has been a speaker and panelist at numerous industry conferences, political group and regulatory forums on telecommunications matters.
